The Much Needed Substance

A song is without no lyrics
and no poems has no melody;
And even in the beginning
The Good Book doesn't mentioned a tune
When God uttered His phrase truthfully;
But a Great Soul in the past,
By his Divine Mercy I was told,
that the Supreme never speak
a word without rhythm,
without rhyme,
without a melody.

It’s not the meaning, it’s the rhyme;
it’s not the thought, but how it was sang;
And whether it was the lyrics
or simply how it sounds;
is the important part of a piece,
simply for the argument's sake,
I shall not concede my stand;
A melody is only a melody
without its subtle grace.

The simple perceives the obvious
The wise sees the unseen,
All for the purpose of The One
who is always present,
but can’t easily be seen;
Not one of them is better
not one of them is least;
Both are parts of a whole,
both are important parcels
in the game of pieces;
as a father dearly loves a child,
and all are children of His.

I say the tune is given and inherent
but words are intricately searched;
Before it truly rang and bangs,
together with the thoughts and rhymes
It takes sacrifices to make;
For no reason a man creates a tune
that makes the whole world dance;
And for no valid reason a forgotten song
was played that made the whole world sang;
But for what reason a song will last for long
without the much needed substance
to withstand the test of time?
